Wholemeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have fallen in love...

...with a cookie.

Don't laugh. These cookies are all kinds of awesome. They're deliciously soft on the inside and delightfully crisp on the outside, which, besides being pleasing to taste, makes them look kind of rustic.

I saw these lovelies on the beautiful blog, Orangette, and knew I had to make them (recipe link). The recipe is by Kim Boyce, the talented women behind Good to the Grain.

These cookies are best served warm from the oven, which is exactly how Ben and I enjoyed them one Sunday afternoon. To complete the picture I would have served them with a glass of milk, but we were out. And I don't like straight milk. But that would look nice, wouldn't it?

These cookies are also nice at room temperature, but I totally recommend you eating them straight from the oven. It's illegal to leave them too long to cool, right? But if you like to break the law, you could microwave them for ~10 seconds to get them warm again.

So go on...make these beautiful, rustic cookies and let yourself fall in love too.
