Paella, Please.

May 28, 2012

Mother’s Day lunch in Red Hill.

Blessed with a little sunshine on this chilly day we retreated outside, warmed by woollen caps and snuggly socks, and gathered around the burner. Dad cooked us lunch, I made cake. We gave mum extra kisses and cuddles that day. It was perfect in it’s simplicity, familiarity and comfort.

Red Hill, love.

Family, food.

Paella, please.

    i want paella
    my family wouldn't appreciate it
    they'd be like
    'wtf this is weird risotto'
    hehe

Wow, how fabulous does that look! I'm drooling just thinking about it!

My boyfriend supposedly had supreme paella-making abilities in this heyday, so I'm told quite often by his mother. Unfortunately it was been years since he actioned one so I am yet to sample the results of his alleged skills.

Believe after this post, I am going to have to demand he makes me one!

Yummy! & all your talk of Red Hill has made me want to take a weekend away there. What are the chances of a post purely on great spots to visit in Red Hill? 🙂 x

Lisa – it was rather wonderful 🙂

holly – hahaha love it 😛

Cat – yes you should demand it!! stat!!

nourishingcrunch – it was rather amazing!

Laura – just get your hands on a pan & you're good to go! really very easy, but getting the crust right takes practice.

Ali – ooooh it was 🙂

Natalie – that's a great idea! I'm so out of the loop re where's great these days, though. There are SO many wineries in the area. Can definitely write about where I go to eat/drink but I think i'd like to revisit places first and get re-acquainted with my area. Honestly we tend to cook at home more than anything!

Blithely Unaware – thanks, lady 🙂

    Lisa – thank you, lovely!

Leah – it was wonderful, thanks, lovely!

Anna – yes, thanks for cooking, Dad!! It was great 🙂

Oh yes, deliciousness, kisses and cuddles. Absolutely perfect. (We added in tipsy-induced bling, but then again we had to take out tomatoes, so p'raps you and I can call it even 😛 ) xo

Hannah – hehe sounds like a plan 😉

Michelle – really?! This one was super quick, although not as quick as the author suggested… with prep & cooking I'd think ~1hr 🙂

Mamacino – nudge nudge, good on you!
